SEOUL, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's industrial output declined last month on sluggishness in the services sector, customs office data showed Thursday.
Production in all industries reduced 0.4 percent in September from a month earlier, according to Statistics Korea.
Output in the mining and manufacturing industries grew in the month, but production among services companies declined on weak activity of the wholesale and retail, and the finance and insurance sectors.
Retail sale, which reflects private consumption, retreated 2.2 percent in September from a month ago, marking the fastest fall since December 2017.
Facility investment expanded 2.9 percent in the cited period, but completed construction diminished 2.7 percent on the faltering real estate market.
