MINSK, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Belarus' foreign debt has fallen to 16.5 billion U.S. dollars, the country's Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
As of Oct. 1, the country's foreign debt decreased by 400 million dollars, or 2.2 percent since the beginning of the year, the ministry said.
In January-September 2019, Belarus attracted external loans of 857.6 million dollars. For the first nine months of 2019, Belarus spent 1.27 billion dollars repaying foreign debt.
As of Oct. 1, domestic public debt amounted to 8.7 billion Belarusian rubles (4.23 billion U.S. dollars), decreasing by 2 percent from the beginning of the year.
