SHENZHEN, China, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Keifer Sykes scored a game-high 32 points and Guangzhou bagged its first win this season after beating Shenzhen 119-103 on road in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Wednesday.
Andrew Nicholson had 31 points and Chen Yingjun contributed 21 for Guangzhou. Shabazz Muhammad scored 29 for Shenzhen.
Liu Fengbo scored the first five points to start the game and Guangzhou stormed to a 19-4 run. Guangzhou led 31-20 into the second quarter. Sykes hit two 3-pointers before Muhammad dominated the paint to trim the deficit for Shenzhen. Guangzhou led 57-48 into the halftime break.
With Nicolson and Sykes keeping their rhythm well, the visiting team maintained its advantage to seal the first victory for this season.
