BEIJING, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Fang Shuo made a decisive steal in Beijing Ducks's 105-102 win over Shandong Heroes at home, while Dominique Jones scored 52 points to earn Jilin Northeast Tigers a 121-107 road victory over Tianjin Pioneers in the second round of Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday.
Moments before his steal, Fang missed a pair of free throws to give the opponents chance of tying the score with 4.8 seconds remaining, but soon made redemption by intercepting the ball.
Justin Hamilton led Beijing's scoring with 35 points along with 10 rebounds and five assists. Jeremy Lin put up 24 points. Zhai Xiaochuan added 18 points and 10 boards.
Lin and Zhai combined 15 points in the first quarter to compile a 29-25 advantage for Beijing.
Lester Hudson, just one assist shy of a triple-double, converted three shots beyond the arc in the second quarter. He was followed by Li Jingyu, who made three consecutive 3-pointers as Shandong leveled the score at 54-all into the halftime.
In a highly-contested match, Shandong continued their effort until the last moment, but all became in vain in front of Fang's steal.
Hudson contributed 30 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists. Li finished 7 of 8 3-pointers to score 21 points.
Jones's 52 points is the league's highest scoring after two rounds of the campaign. Jilin's top scorer shot 13 of 18 in the field, also dishing out 10 assists.
Trailing by three points, Jilin dominated the final period 34-17 for their second victory in as many games.
Cui Jinming and Zhong Cheng scored 20 and 15 points respectively for Jilin. Tianjin, still winless so far, received 34 points and 17 rebounds from Marko Todorovic.
Also on Wednesday, last season's semifinalists Shenzhen Aviators conceded their second straight loss at the hand of Guangzhou Loong Lions 119-103. Keifer Sykes and Andrew Nicholson had 32 and 31 points respectively for Guangzhou.
