Chinese-subtitled trailer released for new "Jumanji" adventure comedy

BEIJING, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese-subtitled trailer has been released for "Jumanji: The Next Level," a sequel to the 2017 American fantasy adventure comedy film "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle," by the official Weibo account of production company Sony Pictures.

The new film tells of a team of friends who return to the dangerous virtual world of the video game Jumanji to rescue one of their own and need to brave parts unknown, from arid deserts to snowy mountains, in order to escape the game.

Directed by Jake Kasdan, "Jumanji: The Next Level" stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan, reprising their roles from the previous film.

It is set to be theatrically released in the United States on Dec. 13.

"Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" debuted on the Chinese mainland in January 2018 where it raked in a total box office revenue of 492 million yuan (about 70 million U.S. dollars), according to the China Movie Data Information Network.
