Guangdong beat Shandong 126-110 in CBA

DONGGUAN, China, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Marshon Brooks scored a game-high 35 points to help defending champions Guangdong Southeast Tigers bagged their third straight win after defeating Shandong Heros 126-110 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Friday.

Sonny Weems scored 18 points and dished out 12 assists while former NBA player Yi Jianlian had 17 points for Guangdong. Lester Hudson scored 31 points and James Mays added 26 points for Shandong.

Brooks led Guangdong to a 19-0 run early in the game, gifting the home side a 31-17 advantage in the first quarter.

With Hudson's three-pointers, Shandong fought back hard in the second quarter and cut the deficit heavily. Guangdong led 61-56 into the halftime break.

The game was much closer in the third quarter as both teams enhanced their defense. Guangdong maintained their five point advantage, leading 89-84 into the last quarter.

Guangdong's coach Du Feng was fouled out in the beginning of the fourth quarter but the home team remained calm to seal the victory.
