BEIJING, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese romantic film "Somewhere Winter" is set to hit Chinese mainland theaters on Friday, Nov. 15, according to the China Film Distribution and Exhibition Association.

Starring Ma Sichun and Wallace Huo, the film tells a love story about two generations and three cities, in which destiny brings the lovers together and then tears them apart.

It is written by Rao Xueman, a novelist and screenwriter best known for her popular youth novels, including "The Left Ear."

The screenplay, according to Rao, is inspired by famous singer Chyi Chin's popular 1987 song "It's About in Winter," after which the movie is named in Chinese.
