BRATISLAVA, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Slovan Bratislava won 1-0 in Zlate Moravce to stretch its lead while Trnava managed to end its four-game losing streak by beating newcomer Pohronie 3-2 in the 15th round of the Slovak premier soccer Fortuna Liga on Sunday.
Contrary to its second defeat in the Europa League on Thursday, Bratislava dominated the Slovak league almost uncontested. The team from the capital city won 12 out of 15 matches to lead the rankings with a six-point buffer before Dunajska Streda. David Holman's shot from afar decided the outcome against Zlate Moravce in the middle of the second half.
Dunajska Streda has won only two games fewer than Bratislava so far and stays in the hunt for leading position after defeating Trencin 3-1. All the goals for the home team were scored by Hungarian-born players.
Elsewhere, Ruzomberok stretched its streak of league games without defeat to 11, triumphing in Zilina after six long years. The visiting team converted on two out five shots on goal to win 2-1.
Senica is slowly moving up the rankings, pleasing the home crowd by defeating Michalovce 4-0. The Colombian-born Velez Castaneda scored twice to help his team win after two consecutive defeats.
Nitra's only fourth win of the season (1-0) came against the nearby town of Sered. Milan Ristovski from North Macedonia scored the only goal of the match, exactly like last week against Trnava.
Trnava managed to rally against Pohronie after being down 0-2 in the first half. The fifth-ranked team scored twice in the second and the Austrian Kubilay Yilmaz became the hero of the match scoring the game-winner two minutes into extra-time.
