MONTEVIDEO, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Fiorentina full-back Martin Caceres and PSV Eindhoven midfielder Gaston Pereiro have been drafted into Uruguay's national squad for friendlies against Hungary and Argentina, the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) said on Monday.

The pair replace Cruz Azul winger Jonathan Rodriguez and Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez, who suffered "muscle injuries" while playing for their respective clubs on the weekend, according to a statement on the AUF's official website.

Despite his call-up, Caceres will be unavailable for the clash with Hungary because of suspension.

The Celeste will play Hungary in Budapest on Friday and Argentina in Tel Aviv, Israel, three days later.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez, Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani and Internazionale defender Diego Godin are expected to feature in both matches, having missed Uruguay's back-to-back friendlies against Peru in October.

The upcoming fixtures will be the last opportunity for Celeste head coach Oscar Tabarez to test his players before the South American zone's 2022 World Cup qualifying tournament starts next March.
