JAKARTA, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo has urged his administration to start distributing pre-employment cards to the public in January next year.
The Manpower Ministry is currently working on the cards, which will help job seekers and low-income workers get vocational training or other forms of certifications.
"I hope the pre-employment cards will come into effect in January 2020," Widodo said during a meeting on Tuesday.
The government has reportedly allocated 700 million U.S. dollars for about 2 million cardholders.
The pre-employment card program is one of Widodo's promises stated during his reelection campaign.
