BEIJING, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson here on Friday urged the Indian side to stop taking any actions that may complicate the boundary question between the two sides and take steps to safeguard peace in border areas.

Spokesperson Geng Shuang made the remarks at a press briefing when asked to comment on Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh's recent tour to the so-called "Arunachal Pradesh."

Geng said the Chinese government has never recognized the so-called "Arunachal Pradesh" and is firmly opposed to visits paid by Indian leaders or senior officials to this area.

China urges the Indian side to respect China's interests and concerns, stop taking any actions that may complicate the boundary question and take concrete steps to safeguard peace in the boundary areas, Geng said.
