DAMASCUS, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Turkish army and its allied Syrian rebels have kidnapped young men in northern Syria, state news agency SANA reported on Monday.

SANA said the Turkish forces and its allied Syrian rebels continue their "aggression" on Syrian soil as they are stealing people's properties and snatching young men from the Tal Tamr and Ras al-Ayn towns in the northeastern province of Hasakah.

It said that intense battles raged on Monday between the Turkish forces and fighters of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) near Tal Tamr amid shelling by the Turkish side on the residential areas in the town.

The official news agency, meanwhile, charged that the Turkish forces and allied rebels have plundered electrical transformers, livestock, and agricultural gears from the northern countryside of Hasakah over the past few weeks.

The Syrian army concluded a deal with the Kurdish forces in control of areas in northern Syria to help counter a Turkish military campaign that has been dragging on since Oct. 9 in northern Syria.
