RABAT, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Morocco defeated Burundi 3-0 in Group E's second round of matches in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Prince Louis Rwagasore Stadium in Bujumbura.
Morocco opened the scoring in the 26th minute thanks to Noussair Mezraoui. Striker Youssef En-Nesyri scored the Atlas Lions' second goal in the 38th minute, and Achraf Hakimi sealed the win with a third goal ten minutes before full-time.
In Friday's first round of qualifiers for the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon, Mauritania held Morocco to a 0-0 draw in a match played in Rabat.
After two rounds of matches, Morocco top Group E with four points, level with Mauritania. The Central African Republic sit third with three point, while Burundi are pointless in fourth.
The top two teams after six rounds of matches will qualify for the final tournament.
