CBA Roundup: Ducks win Beijing Derby on buzzer beater, Shenzhen upset Shanghai

BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Zhu Yanxi's three pointer in the last second helped Beijing Ducks edge Beijing Royal Fighters 91-90 while Shenzhen Aviators came from behind to register a 99-95 win over Shanghai Sharks in the 2019-20 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Tuesday.

Beijing Ducks trimmed a 6-point deficit in the last 19 seconds as Justin Hamilton had a team-high 24 points and eight rebounds. Captain Zhai Xiaochuan contributed 18 points, followed by 17 from Zhu Yanxi.

Sani Sakakini led Beijing Royal Fighters with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Kyle Fogg scored 16 points. Jason Thompson and Sun yue added 13 apiece.

Despite being on the losing side, Donatas Motiejunas scored a team-high 21 points, with James Nunnally adding 20 points for Shanghai, while shooting guard Dwight Buycks led Shenzhen with 20 points and 11 assists.

"We did well in defense but we still lost the game today," rued Shanghai head coach Li Qiuping after the game. "Our players were too eager to hit three-pointers. We desperately need a win to improve the morale of our team."

Zhejiang Lions bagged their fourth straight win after defeating Qingdao Eagles 126-114.

Seven players of the Lions scored double digits, led by center Hu Jingqiu with 21 points. Aaron Jackson finished with 16 points and a game-high 16 assists, Kenneth Faried added 14 points and 12 rebounds, Sun Minghui added 19 points.

Darius Adams scored a game-high 37 points, Dakari Johnson added 24 points and 17 rebounds for Qingdao.

Andrew Nicholson scored a game-high 36 points as Guangzhou Long Lions trounced Tianjin Pioneers 130-99. Keifer Sykes added 25 points for Guangzhou. Shi Deshuai scored 27 and Tian Yu contributed 22 for Tianjin.

Jarnell Stokes collected a double-double with 24 points and 20 rebounds to lead Xinjiang win over Bayi 120-100.

In other games, Guangdong Southeast Tigers beat Nanjing Monkey Kings 116-91 and Zhejiang Golden Bulls edged Shandong Heroes 109-107.
