BANGKOK, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- A 10-wheel lorry driver has been arrested for allegedly trafficking almost 3 million pills of methamphetamine from Thailand's northern province of Chiang Rai, said Thai police on Tuesday.
Police said they were tipped off of a man trying to smuggle speed pills into Thailand's central region.
Police later uncovered 2.9 million speed pills packed in 22 sacks of fertilizer.
Meanwhile authorities from the Office of the Narcotics Control Board said they will launch an investigation to crack down the drug-trafficking network the lorry driver was working for.
The lorry driver told police that he was told to pick up the sacks of fertilizers from a petrol station in Chiang Rai without knowing what was inside them. Enditem
