LUANDA, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- FIFA President Gianni Infantino has pledged 6 million U.S. dollars grant to Angola in aid for infrastructure projects development.

Infantino made the statement to the press in Luanda on Thursday, the first day of a visit to Angola and after being received by head of state Joao Lourenco.

The FIFA president said that the grant will be applied over the next four years to youth and women's football infrastructure development programs.

Infantino, who leaves the country Friday, has scheduled meetings with Luanda governor Luther Rescova, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, and members of the Angolan Football Federation, in the Angolan capital.

Infantino visits Angola as part of a tour to the African continent. He has already visited The Gambia, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, DR Congo and Mozambique.

Infantino is the second FIFA president to visit Angola, after Joseph Blater in January 2010, on the occasion of the African Cup of Nations (CAN).
