YANGON, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- A total of 970,215 students registered for the upcoming nationwide matriculation exam in Myanmar, according to a release from the Education Ministry on Sunday.
The matriculation exam for 2019-2020 academic year is set to be held across Myanmar on March 11-20 next year.
The matriculation exam features varieties of subjects -- Myanmar language, English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Economics, Geography, History, Optional Myanmar language, based on their chosen specializations which are arts, science, and arts and sciences.
Myanmar registered a pass rate of matriculation examination of 31.44 percent nationwide in last academic year of 2018-2019.
The last academic year's figures showed a slight drop from 32.82 percent in the 2017-2018 academic year.
In the 2018-2019 academic year, a total of 851,524 students took part in the matriculation exam, of whom 267,696 students passed.
Students in Myanmar are set to take the matriculation exams before entering universities.
