GENEVA, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Swiss Federal Mint Swissmint announced Monday that it will issue commemorative coin in honor of tennis legend Roger Federer next year.
In a statement posted on the Swiss Federal Government's website Monday, Swissmint said it'll be the first time in its history that it is dedicating commemorative coins to a living person.
According to the statement, Swissmint will issue a 20-franc "Roger Federer" silver coin on Jan. 23, 2020, and a gold coin in May 2020.
With 20 grand slam titles, Federer is one of Switzerland's most successful sportsmen and considered by Swissmint as "the perfect ambassador" for the country.
Born in 1981, the Swiss legend tennis player ranked world No. 1 for 237 consecutive weeks, and has won 103 singles titles in total.
