WASHINGTON, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Major League Soccer (MLS) team Inter Miami have made an offer for River Plate midfielder Exequiel Palacios, local media reported on Thursday.
Inter Miami are willing to pay 23 million US dollars for the player, which would shatter the MLS record for a transfer fee, according to local media.
Earlier report said Bundesliga side Leverkusen have also been linked to the Argentine star and that their bid will top 18 million dollars.
Palacios, 21, came through River Plate's youth system, and led River Plate to back-to-back Copa Libertadores finals during last two years, winning the continent's top club title in 2018.
