KUWAIT CITY, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait remains optimistic about resolving the dispute between Gulf neighbours, Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah said Monday.

He made the remarks at a reception held in the Qatari embassy in Kuwait.

Saudi Arabia will host the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit in the capital Riyadh on Dec. 10, where Gulf leaders will discuss topics that could reinforce cooperation and integration in politics, defense, security, and review regional and international policies.

The Qatari emir has received an invitation from the Saudi king to attend the summit, according to the Qatar News Agency.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt have been imposing a diplomatic and economic boycott on Qatar since June 2017 over allegations that the gas-rich Gulf country supports terrorism and interferes in their domestic affairs, which Doha has repeatedly denied.
