NANJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Books and journals on the Nanjing Massacre were recently issued in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province.

A total of nine books and journals became available for the first time in the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre on Monday.

One of the books records the oral accounts of 11 people, which include the memorial hall's designers, builders and researchers of the history of the Nanjing Massacre, providing various perspectives into the history of the atrocity and the construction and development of the memorial hall.

Last year, a Chinese version of a photo collection of historical facts of the atrocity was published. This year, the English and Japanese versions were made available. Readers can listen to audios or watch videos by scanning a QR code in the book.

The English and Japanese versions of the Journal of the Japanese invasion of China and the Nanjing Massacre are also among the nine. The journal started publication in Chinese in 2008.

The Nanjing Massacre took place when Japanese troops captured the city, then China's capital, on Dec. 13, 1937. Over six weeks, they killed 300,000 Chinese civilians and unarmed soldiers.
