TUNIS, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Customs units in Kasserine province, in western Tunisia, arrested on Friday a young man on suspicion of espionage.
The suspect, a Tunisian national, received a package containing electronic objects used in espionage and surveillance, said a statement released by the Tunisian Customs Directorate.
"After consulting the experts in the field of communications, the devices could pose a security risk, as they could be used to intercept and interfere with official wireless communications," said the statement.
During his interrogation, the suspect revealed that he was responsible for sending the package to his friend living in the Tunisian-Algerian border area.
After consulting with the public prosecutor's office, relevant authorities will take necessary measures against the suspect. Enditem
