NANJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Joseph Young of Nanjing Monkey Kings was unstoppable, notching a game-high 48 points, 15 rebounds and ten assists to help his team overwhelm Guangzhou Loong Lions 128-98 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Saturday.
The immense guard was on fire in the second half as he scored 35 points, shooting over 80 percent to lead Nanjing to claim a home victory after two straight losses. Andrew Nicholson posted a team-leading 26 points, 12 rebounds for Guangzhou.
Both teams showcased aggressive attacks and could not put their opponents on the ropes in the first half as Nanjing prevailed 57-53 to enter the third quarter.
The host team opened the third quarter on a strong start led by Young, who blitzed Guangzhou by shooting 8 for 9, including 5 three-pointers, and Nanjing established a 23-point lead into the last period. Guangzhou was shell-shocked and could do nothing to reverse the trend.
