WARSAW, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- The New England Revolution announced on Friday the transfer of Poland's youth striker Adam Buksa, who previously played for Pogon Szczecin.

According to the Polish media, the club from the United States paid about four million U.S. dollars for the forward.

Buksa will play at Foxborough as "Designated Player." In Major League Soccer, there is a rule that every club is allowed to sign up to three players outside the team's salary cap.

"We are delighted to sign Adam, as he is a talented striker who will complement our group of attacking players and our team. We are excited to welcome him to the New England Revolution, and look forward to working with him," said Bruce Arena, sporting director and head coach of New England Revolution in the interview for the official website of the team.

"I'm very happy and I look forward to start training with the team. Before I came to Boston I had checked out the facilities on the website and I had been shocked. To be honest I've never seen such good training centre before. I'm more impressed than I expected. I'm extremely excited to be here," commented Buksa.

"I like challenges, so the offer from New England Revolution was a fantastic opportunity to start to play in MLS League. I know what role I have to play in the team. I feel important player. It's good place to increase my skills, of course my objective is to score as many goals as possible. I'm sure that I'm in the right place," added the Pole.
