BEIRUT, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale said here on Saturday that the U.S. is ready to help Lebanon if officials make serious achievements in the coming period, local media reported.
Hale arrived in Lebanon on Friday and discussed with Lebanese officials about issues including developments on the borders with Israel and the formation of cabinet in the country.
"We will not give up on Lebanon and its politicians. We trust in the future of this country and the international community is ready to help Lebanon if it takes serious measures in the coming period," Hale was quoted as saying by Elnashra, an online independent newspaper.
Hale said he asked Lebanese officials to listen to people's demands, adding that the economic revival lies in the hands of politicians in the country.
