WARSAW, Dec.22 (Xinhua) -- The Polish ski jumper Kamil Stoch won FIS World Cup in Engelberg, Switzerland on Saturday, followed by Austrian Stefan Kraft and Karl Geiger of Germany.

The three-time Olympic champion is among the favorites to win the general standings of the World Cup. Hovewer, in the first five rounds of the season he was not able to stand on the highest podium. In Engelberg he had showed that he is in a good shape both in the trial round and in the qualifications. Then he proved his class to take a massive win in the competition.

After the first jump on 138 meters Stoch went atop with a 4.5-point advantage over the second-placed Stefan Kraft. Geiger jumped 135 meters, while Kraft jumped 137.5 meters to keep high pressure on Stoch. The Pole met the expectations to achieve 136 meters.

"I really like jumping here, I felt good from the first jump. I always come to Engelberg with a good attitude and smile on my face. I did my job and I had a good time. It was one of those days when you feel you can do a good job. The hill was prepared very well. I'm satisfied with my performance", Stoch was quoted as saying by Polish TV.

On Saturday the Pole has notched his 34th World Cup win. In all-time ranking he is fifth behind Gregor Schlierenzauer, Matti Nykaenen, Adam Malysz and Janne Ahonen.

Kraft, who achieved his third succesive podium, leads in the general classification with 356 points ahead of Japan's Kobayashi Ryoyu and Geiger. Stoch is in the fifth place.
