NANCHANG, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Bayi Rockets snapped a 13-game losing streak in the 2019-20 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Sunday, with a 107-102 home win over Nanjing Monkey Kings.
Bayi took a double-digit lead at the beginning of the first quarter, but Joseph Young came off the bench to help Nanjing reduce the arrears, and tied 52-52 for the first half.
Yu Chen scored his mid-range shots to enable Bayi lead 77-71 into the final period, which witnessed a fast break dunk from Young, sparking a fightback from Nanjing after coach Cui Wanjun called a timeout.
Bayi took a three-point lead into the last 18 seconds before ultimately claiming the victory.
"My thanks to our players for their aggressive defense. It was indeed a hard-won victory," said Bayi coach Wang Zhizhi.
Among the five Bayi players with double-digit points, Fu Hao had a game-high 29 points and 14 rebounds. Young recorded a team-high 27 points and Hamed Haddadi added 17 points for the visitors.
