BEIJING, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- China's draft law on community correction was submitted for a third reading on Monday at the ongoing bimonthly session of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

The latest draft adds more details on electronic positioning.

It must be approved by the head of the justice authorities at the county level to impose electronic positioning on any subject, according to the draft law.

The draft law stipulates the applicable subjects of electronic positioning, including those who violate the injunction of the court, people leaving the city or county of residence without proper reasons or approval, people who fail to report their activities in accordance with the regulations after being given a warning, among others.

The time limit for using electronic positioning shall not exceed three months, says the draft.

When it is necessary to continue tracking after the expiration of the time limit, the time limit may be extended upon approval and shall not exceed three months at a time, it added.

The draft law protects personal information obtained through electronic positioning, saying that community correction institutions must keep the information confidential, and the relevant information can only be used for community correction work.

The legislative session runs from Dec. 23 to 28.
