MUSCAT, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Oman Film and Theater Society announced on Monday five categories of competition for the 11th edition of Muscat International Film Festival slated for March 24-28, 2020.
The announcement was made by Qasim bin Muhammad Al Sulaimi, chairman of Oman Film and Theater Society, at a press conference.
The deadline for the committee to receive participating works is Jan. 15, 2020, according to Sulaimi.
The five categories of competition include the feature films competition (feature and documentary), short GCC and Arab films competition (feature and documentary), students' film competition, children's film competition, and animation film competition.
Awards for the best film, director, screenplay, actor, actress, and cinematography will go to the feature films competition, while awards for the best film, director and cinematography will be allocated for the documentary competition.
Established 22 years ago, Muscat International Film Festival was one of the first international film festivals held in the Gulf region.
