BEIRUT, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- Newly appointed Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab on Tuesday said he will form a government capable of dealing with economic, financial and social woes in Lebanon, local media reported.
"When we form a government that gains the confidence vote of the Parliament, we will turn to the implementation of projects that are in the interest of the Lebanese people on the economic, financial and social levels," Diab was quoted as saying by Elnashra, an online independent newspaper.
Diab vowed that he will work with a specialized team in the new government while adding that he is also relying on the support of the Lebanese people.
Diab said earlier that he would form a government of experts to deal with the economic and political challenges.
Diab was appointed prime minister last week and he is expected to form a government in the coming few days to solve the prevailing economic and financial crisis.
