JERUSALEM, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Israeli basketball champions Maccabi Tel Aviv have signed 27-year-old center Jalen Reynolds, who started the season with China's Zhejiang Lions, the Israeli club announced Saturday.

Reynolds played at Xavier College and in 2016 he began his European career with Italy's Basket Recanati.

Reynolds later played for Pallacanestro Reggiana, Barcelona and Zenit Saint Petersburg.

In the summer of 2019, Reynolds joined the Zhejiang Lions of the CBA League, where he averaged 13.8 points per game, 10 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.2 steals in 25.2 minutes per evening.

In November, after only five games in the CBA, he was acquired by the Stockton Kings of the NBA G League - a team owned by the NBA's Sacramento Kings.

In Maccabi, currently ranked fourth in the Euroleague, he will play with guard Aaron Jackson, who also started the season with the Lions and recently signed with the Israeli champions.

The contract will keep Reynolds in Maccabi until the end of the Euroleague season in May 2020, with an option to extend until the end of the Israeli season in June.

Maccabi's head coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos said: "I am very happy that we are adding a quality player to our squad. Reynolds comes to help us and provide solutions inside."

Reynolds said: "I am very happy to come to such a historical and legendary club. The Maccabi jersey is well known worldwide". Enditem
