BEIJING, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- "A Windfall Trap," a suspense film about impoverished people in the mountains of southwest China suddenly finding themselves showered with money, led the Chinese mainland box office Sunday, according to the China Movie Data Information Network Monday.

The black comedy raked in 464,300 yuan (around 66,500 U.S. dollars) on Sunday, accounting for nearly 20 percent of the daily total.

It was followed by "Ip Man 4," the latest installment in the Chinese martial arts film franchise "Ip Man" based on the life of a legendary Wing Chun master, which pocketed 270,700 yuan.

Coming in third was "Sheep Without a Shepherd," a Chinese adaptation of a renowned Indian drama. It grossed about 178,800 yuan.
