BEIJING, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- A total of 30 books for young readers were selected as winners of a government support project for 2019, the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee said Monday.
Selected from new books published since 2018, the winners include 11 books in the general humanities and social sciences, such as an illustrated version of the Communist Manifesto, and 19 children's books.
Administered by the publishing division of the department, the project was designed to select and support publications for young readers that could help the young cultivate core socialist values and enrich their spiritual understanding.
The selection also favors original stories as well as young and middle-aged authors with potential, according to the organizer.
