Passengers travelling between China, Israel up 16.79 pct in 2019: report

JERUSALEM, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- The number of passengers travelling between China and Israel through Israel's Ben-Gurion International Airport rose by 16.79 percent in 2019, the Israel Airports Authority (IAA) said Tuesday.

A total of 527,857 passengers flew between the two countries in 2019, compared to 451,962 in the previous year, according to an IAA annual report.

In December 2019, 38,255 passengers travelled between Israel and China, registering an increase of 2.54 percent, compared to 37,308 a year ago.

A total of about 24 million passengers of international flights passed through Ben Gurion Airport in 2019, up 7.51 percent from 2018.
