SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Two skiers were killed and five others injured in an avalanche at a ski resort in the U.S. state of Idaho on Tuesday, Idaho police said.

The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office of Idaho confirmed Tuesday evening that a second skier pulled from the snow in the avalanche of the Silver Mountain Resort in northern Idaho has died.

Silver Mountain Resort officials confirmed on Facebook earlier in the day that a skier was found dead from the avalanche, and they now believed that all other skiers on the mountain are accounted for after a search for people possibly trapped in snow.

Silver Mountain officials said the resort will be open Wednesday, except for the runs where the avalanche took place.

No details about the victims would be released at the moment out of respect for their families and privacy, said the officials.
