KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's central bank, Bank Negara, said Wednesday that its international reserves stood at 103.6 billion U.S. dollars as of Dec. 31, 2019.

The reserves were 0.3 percent higher when compared with 103.3 billion U.S. dollars as of Dec. 13, 2019.

The central bank said in a statement, the reserves level had taken into account the quarterly foreign exchange revaluation changes.

The reserves position is sufficient to finance 7.5 months of retained imports and is 1.1 time total short-term external debt, according to the statement.

The international reserves consist of 97.2 billion U.S. dollars in foreign currency reserves, 1.1 billion U.S. dollars in International Monetary Fund Reserves Position, 1.1 billion U.S. dollars in Special Drawing Rights, 1.9 billion U.S. dollars in gold and 2.3 billion U.S. dollars in other reserves assets.
