FRANKFURT, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index up 174.88 points, or 1.31 percent, to close at 13,495.06 points.
German airlines Lufthansa won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.99 percent. Aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero and automotive manufacturer Volkswagen gained 2.78 percent and 2.77 percent respectively.
Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard, multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement and automotive manufacturer BMW were the only three losers among the blue chips, falling 1.07 percent, 0.55 percent and 0.07 percent respectively.
Wirecard was the most-traded share, with a turnover of 302.3 million euros (335.8 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
