FRANKFURT, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Germany's flagship carrier Lufthansa said Friday that it will cancel flights to and from Tehran airport in Iran until Jan. 20 due to security concerns.
Lufthansa AG said the temporary cancellation of Tehran flights, including those run by Austrian Airlines under its group, was a precautionary measure due to the uncertain security situation of the airspace around the Iranian capital.
Friday's announcement is the latest update of Lufthansa's decision concerning its Tehran routes. Earlier this week, it canceled flights to Iran and then decided to resume the service from Thursday.
The temporary cancellation came after the fatal crash of Ukrainian Airlines Flight 752 near Tehran on Wednesday that killed 176 people on board. Enditem
