5.5-magnitude quake hits Lakatoro, Vanuatu: USGS

NEW YORK, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted 53 km S of Lakatoro, Vanuatu at 20:06:40 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 13.05 km, was initially determined to be at 16.6035 degrees south latitude and 167.4414 degrees east longitude.
