Mixed NOC 3-on-3 ice hockey makes debut at YOG

LAUSANNE, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Mixed NOC 3-on-3 ice hockey made its first appearance here on Friday at the Lausanne 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games.

This big innovation for ice hockey, which mixed into teams of 11 skaters and two goaltenders, plays at a full rink divided in two with two games running simultaneously. Mixed NOC 3-on-3 consists of 8 teams per gender category in Lausanne,and players from different countries regions.

In Saturday's Preliminary Round Games,the men's competitions saw Team Green beat Team Yellow 10-5 to top the standings. Team Grey edged Team blue 9-8, Team Black lost to Team Brown 13-11, Team Orange defeated Team Red 8-6.

Team Yellow led the women's standings with a 12-4 victory against Team Green. Team Black edged Team Brown 7-6, Team Orange saw off Team Red, Team Blue beat Team Grey 9-7.
