BEIRUT, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Le Mall, one of the biggest malls in Lebanon's capital Beirut, announced on Monday that it would shut down in two months because of the economic deterioration in the country, Lebanon News Online website reported.

The mall's administration attributed its decision to its inability to sustain its operations in the current situation, the news website said.

Le Mall started three months ago to cut salaries of its employees by half, while warning them of its plan to shut down.

Le Mall has three branches in Sin el-Fil, a suburb of east of Beirut, and the towns of Saida and Dbayeh.

The branch in Sin el-Fil, which will close soon, employs around 500 people.
