BEIJING, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- China's traffic police will take a series of new measures to provide more convenient traffic management services, the Ministry of Public Security said Tuesday.

The traffic management division under the ministry will issue digital certifications of vehicle inspection to replace the paper stickers that are currently required to be put on the cars.

The program will be piloted in 16 cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Urumqi starting from March 1.

The police will also extend three pilot programs that have proven feasible to cover the entire country.

One of the programs is to issue traffic safety information, such as real-time reports of road accidents and obstructions on roads, via navigation systems.

The program will be implemented nationwide by the end of March.
