Alba Berlin beat Crvena Zvezda 94-85 in basketball Euroleague

BELGRADE, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) suffered another Euroleague defeat at home, this time from German Alba Berlin by 94-85 on Friday.

After the home team held to its advantage for the most of the match, Alba Berlin managed to make a turnaround in the third quarter and even the score to 62-62.

The two teams were even at 79-79, when Crvena Zvezda's Branko Lazic and Vladimir Stimac missed three-point shots at the end of the fourth quarter.

Alba Berlin made a 5-0 run in the beginning of the extra time, while Martin Hermannsson sealed the victory with a three pointer just a minute before the final whistle.

Luke Sikma was most efficient in the winning ranks with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. On the other side, Crvena Zvezda's Kevin Punter achieved 24 points.

This is the second consecutive defeat for Crvena Zvezda that previously marked four consecutive victories.

Next week, Crvena Zvezda travel to play against Barcelona, while Alba Berlin compete against Zalgiris in Lithuania.
