LAUSANNE, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Nikolai Holmboe of Norway claimed the men's cross-country cross free title at the Winter Youth Olympic Games here on Saturday.
Holmboe took the first place in the qualification and ranked second in the semifinals. Then he delivered excellent performance in the final, crossing the line first in four minutes and 9.97 seconds.
Sweden's Edvin Anger placed second in 4:11.74, while compatriot Albin Aastroem finished third in 4:13.51.
Chinese Zhang Chenghao and Gu Cang ranked 46th and 59th respectively in the qualification, and failed to make the semis.
In the women's cross-country cross free, Siri Wigger of Switzerland won the gold in 4:39.95, while Swedish Maerta Rosenberg and Tove Ericsson came second and third with 4:40.72 and 4:41.10 respectively. Enditem
