BEIJING, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi on Saturday called for efforts to prevent and defuse major risks, ensure security and maintain stability.
Zhao made the remarks at a meeting gathering police chiefs from across the country.
Stressing political security, social stability and peaceful lives of the people, Zhao demanded a secure and stable environment to build a moderately prosperous society in all aspects and facilitate the completion of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020).
He also urged the police to strengthen their political work, reform, use of technologies and self-governance, noting that measures concerning the country's political security and social stability should be fully carried out.
