CAIRO, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- EgyptAir, the flag carrier of Egypt, announced on Tuesday the launch of a new class of travel for international flights on its new Airbus A220-300 fleet, an airline statement said.

"EgyptAir is introducing its Comfort Class on front seats beginning from the first row to the third, with passengers receiving a number of privileges during their trips," Ahmed Adel, chief executive officer of EgyptAir, said in the statement.

The privileges include finalizing travel procedures through Business Class counters and allowing two pieces of 32 kg checked-in luggage and a piece of 8 kg carry-on luggage, he added.

The Comfort Class will be offered at prices lower than those of Business Travel Class, Adel noted.

"The new class will be available for passengers as of today for flights to many world destinations including Beirut, Istanbul, Moscow, Amman and Muscat," he said.

The announcement comes just days after EgyptAir received a new Airbus A220-300, configured in a two-class cabin with 15 premium and 125 economy class seats.

It is the eighth A220-300 aircraft delivered to Egypt as part of a deal with Europe's Airbus company to purchase 12 aircraft of the same family by June this year.
