LAUSANNE, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- China/Czech Republic beat France/Norway 7-3, advancing to the semi-finals while Poland/China bowed out 14-4 to France/Russia in the mixed doubles curling competitions at the 2020 Winter YOG on Tuesday.

The China/Czech Republic combination had a couple of really good shots while at the same time prevented their opponents from scoring easy goals. They dominated the game and secured the win and a berth in the semifinals.

"I think that was our best game. We had a lot of great shots. We really knew the speed of the ice," said Vit Chabicovsky from Czech Republic.

Chabicovsky's teammate Pei Junhang, a 16-year-old girl from China, attributed the win to good attitude:"We are open-minded and positive. The key factor for the win was that we always maintain good attitude.

The pair's coach Perry Marshall said, "I told them what they could do in the game and how they could approach the game. They stick to the game plan and executed it intentively and perfectly. So that was good for us."

"I think they formed a nice team. I am satisfied with their performance," Marshall added.

In the semifinals, China/Czech Republic will face France/Russia while Hungary/Canada will take on Japan/France. Enditem
