ACCRA, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Ghana has been drawn alongside South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Ethiopia in Group G of the 2022 FIFA World Cup second-round qualifiers.

The Black Stars was among the top teams seeded ahead of the draw Tuesday night in the Egyptian capital of Cairo.

The West African country is hoping to return to the World Cup after missing out in the 2018 edition in Russia.

The head coach of the Black Stars Charles Akonnor said his side will put in the hard work to qualify for the tournament.

"We know that the other teams in the group will do their bit to go to Qatar too but we will put in hard work and we know that hard work pays," he said.

After a round-robin of matches, the winners of the 10 groups will qualify for the final round of the continental qualification on the journey to Qatar. Enditem
