MADRID, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Sevilla's Argentinean international midfielder Ever Banega has confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the season to join Saudi Arabian side, Al Shabab on a three-year deal.

The move means that in June the 31-year-old will end a career that has seen him spend 11 years in Spain, with six of those seasons at Valencia and five with Sevilla, as well as a brief spell with Atletico Madrid.

Banega announced his decision in a letter to the Sevilla fans saying he had "had five unforgettable years and lived my best period as a footballer."

"After over a decade competing in the elite in Europe, I have decided to try a new experience after this summer: a new continent and a new football," wrote Benega.

"I hope I can leave playing finals and winning titles. I am going to give everything as I have in the 218 games in which I have worn the Sevilla shirt."

"The club made a big effort to sign me and the fans have protected me and made me feel very special," said the midfielder, who will be paid over 10 million US dollars a season at Al Shabab according to the Spanish press.
