Egyptian, German leaders discuss Trump's Mideast peace plan over phone

CAIRO -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi received a phone call from German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday where they discussed the recent Middle East peace plan announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, said the Egyptian presidency.

Sisi and Merkel exchanged views on the latest developments of the Palestinian cause, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the Middle East peace process, Egyptian Presidency spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement. xhne.ws/cKLU4

Israel boosts forces in West Bank amid Trump's Mideast peace plan

JERUSALEM -- Israel has deployed more troops in the occupied West Bank, the army said on Wednesday evening, in the wake of the unveiling of U.S. President Donald Trump's Middle East peace plan.
